Tomás Achterberg
Tomás Achterberg is Halcyon's Chief Technology Officer and the architect of the shared fusion core that powers most of the fleet. Before joining the executive team he was programme engineer on the Odyssey Deep Explorer, where his team squeezed fuel consumption down to just 0.85 tonnes of helium-3 pellets per 100 AU.
Today Tomás owns the technical roadmap across all nineteen ships, from the 4.1 Mc Sparrow Trainer to the Meridian Colony Ark. He personally chairs the Eidolon Lightsail Prototype review board and is a frequent, plain-spoken speaker on why reusable drive modules matter more than headline top speeds.
He is based at Kepler Yards and is known for holding design reviews in the hangar rather than the boardroom.
Tomás holds eleven patents on drive modularity and was an early backer of the open-sourcing of Halcyon flight software. He argues that the company's next leap will come less from raw engine power than from smarter fuel logistics, citing the Nimbus Gas Skimmer, which refuels itself by scooping hydrogen from gas-giant atmospheres, as the model for the future.
