Ion Propulsion Specialist Propulsion

Oksana Hrytsenko is Halcyon's ion propulsion specialist at the Olympus Ring yard. She designed the xenon ion thruster clusters that drive the Polaris Relay Tender and the Gravitas Dock Barge, and the argon Hall-effect engines on the Basilisk Salvage Tug.

Oksana's work focuses on patient, efficient propulsion: the Polaris burns just 1.4 tonnes of xenon per 100 AU. She is currently developing a higher-thrust variant for future construction barges and mentors a team of six propulsion graduates.

Oksana grew up near a satellite tracking station and has been fascinated by spacecraft that move slowly but never stop. She regularly publishes thruster lifetime data and believes that patient, low-thrust propulsion is the unsung hero of every orbital construction yard, including the Olympus Ring where the Gravitas works every day.
