Mateo Silva

Mateo Silva is Halcyon's Chief Test Pilot, based at the Olympus Ring. He has flown the first flight of six Halcyon ships, including the Aurora Mk II, Corvid Stealth Scout and Nimbus Gas Skimmer, whose first atmospheric dive into Saturn he still calls the most beautiful thing he has seen.

Mateo is the sole pilot of the Eidolon Lightsail Prototype, which is designed for a single pilot supported by a four-person crew. He also trains every new Halcyon test pilot.

Mateo has logged more than 9,000 flight hours across thirty spacecraft types and holds the Halcyon record for the longest continuous single-pilot flight. He is a passionate advocate for test pilots having a voice in early design, and he regularly visits the Oceania flight school to fly with cadets in the Sparrow Trainer.
