Zanele Dlamini

Zanele Dlamini is a test pilot based at the Nairobi campus. She specialises in heavy and awkward craft: she flew the certification campaign for the Cascade Dropship, including a full-load landing of 220 tonnes on Mars, and handled acceptance flights of the Leviathan Ore Hauler.

Zanele previously flew Kestrel shuttles commercially and is a vocal ambassador for Halcyon's pilot training programme across Africa.

Zanele grew up in Durban and earned her wings flying atmospheric cargo before moving to spacecraft. She is currently flying test campaigns for upgraded Cascade landing gear on Titan, and volunteers with a programme that brings young people from across Africa to the Nairobi campus to experience flight simulators for the first time.
