Data Engineer Open Data

Tanvi Kulkarni is a data engineer at the Osaka campus who builds the pipelines that turn raw ship and satellite telemetry into clean, documented open datasets. She designed the ingestion system for the Polaris Relay Tender's satellite health data.

Tanvi is a regular hackathon mentor and maintains several of Halcyon's open data repositories.

Tanvi also built the pipeline that publishes Valkyrie Survey Corvette mapping data within days of each survey, and she is responsible for the data quality checks that make Halcyon's datasets trusted by researchers. She previously worked on weather-data infrastructure and enjoys turning messy streams of sensor readings into tidy, well-documented tables that anyone can download and explore.
