Thiago Santos

Thiago Santos leads interior design at the Valparaíso campus. He designed the spin-gravity cabins of the Halcyon Starliner and the family habitats of the Meridian Colony Ark, where 4,800 settlers will live for months in transit.

Thiago focuses on comfort in confined spaces and uses natural materials grown aboard ship wherever possible.

Thiago trained as an architect in São Paulo and spent several years designing compact urban housing before turning to spacecraft. He has also designed the patient recovery ward of the Seraph Medevac. Thiago speaks at design events about creating homes in space and works closely with human factors engineers to ensure interiors support mental health and wellbeing.
