Callisto Comms Hackathon

Rafael Quispe mentors avionics teams, and Samir Haddad runs a challenge on navigation from relay signals.

Teams use data from Polaris-serviced relays and Corvid patrol logs. Rafael will mentor teams building better antenna pointing and fault detection for relay satellites. Samir's challenge asks teams to estimate a ship's position using only timing signals from relays, a useful backup when star trackers fail. Teams will have access to anonymised datasets from Polaris-serviced relays and patrol logs from Corvid scouts around Callisto. Mentors will be available throughout both days.

Prizes include internships at Halcyon and time on the company's relay simulator. Students and early-career engineers are especially welcome.

For students and communications engineers. Accommodation at Valhalla Basin is provided for registered teams travelling from elsewhere in the Jovian system.
