Total cost of ownership: Odyssey Deep Explorer

Commissioning a Odyssey Deep Explorer starts at ₡1,240 million. That buys a Long-range explorer with a 1,200 tonnes payload and a 1,800 AU reach.

Operating costs are kept down by the Helium-3 fusion pellets drive, which uses roughly 0.85 tonnes per 100 AU. At typical fuel prices, that makes this one of the cheapest ships in its class per tonne-AU.

Staffing is lean: 4 helmsman/helmsmen and 18 total crew. Fewer people aboard means lower wages, less consumables and more room for revenue cargo.
