Total cost of ownership: Meridian Colony Ark

Commissioning a Meridian Colony Ark starts at ₡8,950 million. That buys a Colony ship with a 260,000 tonnes payload and a 300 AU reach.

Operating costs are kept down by the Helium-3 fusion pellets drive, which uses roughly 3.9 tonnes per 100 AU. At typical fuel prices, that makes this one of the cheapest ships in its class per tonne-AU.

Staffing is lean: 12 helmsman/helmsmen and 340 total crew. Fewer people aboard means lower wages, less consumables and more room for revenue cargo.
