Osaka Autonomy Hackathon

Hackathon Hosted by HSW Halcyon Osaka Campus, Bayfront Lab

Teams of two to five will spend 48 hours building autonomy tools on top of real flight data. Challenges include docking path planning for the Polaris Relay Tender's twin robotic arms and low-signature route planning for the single-pilot Corvid Stealth Scout.

Director of Autonomy Mei-Lin Zhou kicks off with a talk on where onboard AI helps a lone pilot and where it should stay quiet. Data Engineer Tanvi Kulkarni introduces the datasets and the sandbox simulator. Sales Engineer Kenji Watanabe will judge the customer-impact track, looking for ideas operators could actually deploy.

Mentors from Halcyon's autonomy, flight software and open data teams will be on hand around the clock, and all winning entries are invited to publish their code under an open licence in the Halcyon repository.

Students, robotics hobbyists and professional engineers are all welcome. Prizes include a simulator day at Kepler Yards and credit for compute time.
