Orbital Debris Forum

Summit HSW speaking Gulf Coast Space Policy Center

The Orbital Stewardship Council convenes regulators and operators on clearing crowded orbits. Grace Mwangi discusses safety standards for debris capture.

Yusuf Demir shares mission-control lessons from Basilisk Salvage Tug and Polaris Relay Tender operations. Grace will argue for common safety rules for capture operations, including how tugs approach tumbling objects and how crews are protected if something breaks loose. She will share Halcyon's own incident statistics from the past five years. Yusuf will describe a typical Basilisk mission from first tracking to the final tow into a recycling yard, and how Polaris tenders can sometimes repair satellites instead of removing them, preventing debris before it forms.

Other sessions cover liability, insurance and funding models for clean-up programmes.

For policymakers, operators and insurers. Halcyon will host a side meeting for operators interested in debris removal contracts.
