Space Medicine Congress

Isabel Navarro presents on crew workload during medical evacuations aboard the Seraph Medevac.

Dmitri Volkov covers radiation shielding for patients and crew during transit. Isabel will present findings from simulated rescues in which two Seraph pilots and nine medical crew cared for up to twelve patients. She will discuss workload peaks, communication between crew members and how cabin layout can reduce errors. Dmitri will explain how the Seraph's shielded ward protects patients during solar storms and what dosage limits Halcyon applies to crews on repeated rescue flights. Both speakers will take part in a panel on emergency care far from hospitals.

The congress also features workshops on trauma care in low gravity and long-duration crew health.

For clinicians, flight surgeons and rescue crews. Halcyon's safety team will also be recruiting flight medics for the Seraph programme.
