The Meridian Colony Ark leaves the cradle

A new Colony ship has joined the Halcyon catalogue. The Meridian Colony Ark lifted off for its maiden sortie on May 2186, and the flight crew came back grinning.

This vessel is built around a crew of 340, of whom 12 sit at the helm. Its hold takes 260,000 tonnes of payload, and its 2,400 m hull was designed to be serviced at any Halcyon orbital yard.

Endurance was the brief from day one. With a reach of 300 AU and a top velocity of 410 km/s, the Meridian Colony Ark covers routes that used to need two hulls and a transfer stop.
