Eidolon Lightsail Unfurling Ceremony
Halcyon Stellar Works invites partners, press and staff to Bay 9 at Kepler Yards for the first full-scale unfurling of the Eidolon Lightsail Prototype. The 3,400 Mc experimental craft is designed to show that a crewed vessel pushed by ground-based lasers could one day reach Proxima Centauri b, roughly 265,000 AU away, without carrying a drop of main propellant.
The programme opens with CEO Ingrid Solberg on why a shipyard best known for freighters and shuttles is investing in interstellar research. CTO Tomás Achterberg follows with a walkthrough of the sail's graphene-lattice weave and its helium-3 trim thrusters. Lightsail Research Lead Kwame Asante will then narrate the deployment sequence in real time as the sail opens over roughly forty minutes.
Seating in the gallery is limited to 300 guests; a live feed will run on every Halcyon campus from Toulouse to Valparaíso. Recommended for propulsion researchers, investors, educators and anyone who wants to see the longest single structure Halcyon has ever built catch its first photons.
