Olympus Ring Yard Open Days

Expo Hosted by HSW Olympus Ring Orbital Yard, Spindle Hall

Our Mars orbital yard opens its pressurised galleries to the public for three days. Visitors will walk the spine of the 2.4-kilometre Meridian Colony Ark under construction and watch Gravitas Dock Barges position hull segments weighing several thousand tonnes each.

Yard Operations Director Arjun Mehta leads hourly tours and a daily briefing on how a crew of 26 on each Gravitas barge assembles structures most shipyards would need a planet for. Ion Propulsion Specialist Oksana Hrytsenko explains why the barges use slow, efficient xenon thrusters instead of chemical engines. On day two, Chief Test Pilot Mateo Silva flies a Cascade Dropship demonstration from the yard down to the Martian surface and back, showing how 220 tonnes of cargo or 60 passengers make the trip.

Families, schools, prospective colonists and suppliers are all welcome. Shuttle connections from the Martian surface run every two hours throughout the event.
