L5 Open Data Day

Meetup Hosted by HSW Kepler Yards, Commons Deck

Open Data Day is a one-day celebration of everything Halcyon publishes for free. Open Data Program Lead Lars Eriksen opens with a review of the year: new telemetry releases, star-chart updates and more contributors than ever.

Data Engineer Tanvi Kulkarni introduces the new streaming API for relay telemetry, while Satellite Data Scientist Hana Park demonstrates Mars orbital survey products. Developer Advocate Elias Moreau runs a hands-on workshop on contributing to Halcyon's navigation libraries. A Polaris Relay Tender crew will explain how servicing missions keep our satellites streaming. Afternoon sessions include a data jam where attendees combine telemetry, star charts and survey maps into new visualisations. Mentors will help newcomers get set up with the Halcyon repository at git.halcyon.example.

All talks will be streamed and archived so contributors on Mars and in the Belt can follow along.

For researchers, developers, students and partners who build on our data.
